The MidwestAmalfi thesis

The Northern Indiana shoreline

A regional story that joins dunes, neighborhoods, downtowns, transit, industry, and Lake Michigan without pretending that a poster is a development plan.

Why the coast matters

Northern Indiana's shoreline is one connected civic and economic landscape: lakefront ecology, working waterfronts, rail and highway access, historic neighborhoods, small businesses, cultural institutions, and public beaches. MidwestAmalfi is the name for seeing that whole landscape clearly and investing attention in it for the long term.

What revitalization means here

Reuse before spectacleMake existing parcels, buildings, streets, and records easier to understand before promising a new skyline.
Local valueFavor work that can strengthen neighborhoods, public access, skilled trades, and locally rooted businesses.
Evidence in publicSeparate verified conditions from aspirations, renderings, and unresolved questions.

What this site is

Atlas is research infrastructure for that vision. It is not a government plan, development approval, brokerage, public-private partnership, or claim that any illustrated project exists.
